Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reiterated his criticism of Luke Shaw, following their draw against Everton last night.

Mourinho has repeatedly called Shaw out publicly for his performances and he condemned the defender's effort again, following his introduction for Ashley Young against the Toffees.

In a post-match press conference, Mourinho claimed that he was 'making every decision' for Shaw from the touchline.

"He (Shaw) had a good performance but it was his body with my brain. He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him.

"And the communication was possible because we were very close. But I was thinking for him - when to close inside, when to open, when to go in depth, when to press the opponent, I was making every decision for him."

"And we need, at this level, the fantastic body he has to play football, the fantastic physical qualities he has, the very good technical ability he has, but he cannot play with my understanding of the game."

"He must understand the game, he must think and he must accelerate the process because (at) 21 years old, he is old enough to have a better understanding of the game."

Mourinho recently claimed that Luke Shaw had falling behind his teammates, and said he could not compare his ability with other United players including Ashley Young.

Shaw reportedly held clear-the-air talks with Mourinho earlier this week, which apparently led to him getting back into the squad for the meeting with Everton.

Prior to last night's game, Shaw's most recent appearance for United was last month, when they drew with Bournemouth.
