Former Kildare player Johnny Doyle Kildare's showdown with the GAA is like two ends of a magnet.

The stand-off stems from Kildare's refusal to play their third round qualifying championship match against Mayo in Croke Park.

Doyle says he beleives there may be no way to resolve the situation as Kildare's stance remains firm.

"In fairness to Croke Park, they've made their stance, and I'm sure any reason's they've come up with, they feel justfied by it. The opposite end Kildare would be in the same boat. As it stands now, it's two ends of a magnet, they are not going to come together,' Said Doyle.

The GPA tonight released a statement backing Kidare GAA, and inisisted that the game be reinstated to it's original venue of St. Conleth's Park.
