Olympic silver medalist John Joe Nevin has confirmed that he is returning to the ring in September.

The London Olympic silver medal winner is set to resume his pro career after suffering two broken legs when he was the victim of a violent assault last April.

He will challenge an, as yet, unnamed opponent in America next month.

Nevin turned pro last October after winning the silver medal at London 2012.
