John Giles thinks Garry Monk has been "harshly treated" after Swansea decided to part ways with him yesterday.
The manager had led the Welsh club to record high of eighth in the Premier League last season, which was his first full term in charge.
This season proved more difficult with the Swans on a poor run when the club decided to sack him.
Impressed by how Monk (36) took responsibility for the difficult period, thinks sacking him was harsh.
"I think it's unfair. I feel sorry for him. He finished up only last season, which is not that long ago, having more points than they ever had in their history before in the Premier League," said John on Off The Ball, adding that he "thinks he's been harshly treated".
