QPR midfielder Joey Barton has said that Wayne Rooney never developed into a world class talent.
The former Manchester City and Newcastle player told BBC Radio Five Live that Rooney's inability to rise into the world class bracket was down to "mentality", contrasting him with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barton also explained some of his reasoning on Twitter...
Maybe Wayne was has been in WC bracket before. I would have to say now he isn't. Why? Well it isn't for the lack of talent IMO.
