Reports have emerged suggesting that Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been banished from club training.

The midfielder, who was involved in numerous controversies earlier in his career, was sent home after a "blazing" row with staff and team-mates according to The Daily Record.

They state that he is not expected back until next week.

It follows a testing week for the Glasgow club after Saturday's 5-1 defeat to Celtic in the Old Firm derby.

The 34-year-old is due to miss this weekend's fixture against Ross County as a result.
