Harlequins and England prop Joe Marler may be set for more disciplinary issues after appearing to kick the head of opponent in his return to action.

Marler was banned for two matches earlier this month, after calling Welsh prop Samson Lee a "gypsy boy" during the Six Nations match between the two countries in March. The English star was also fined over €25,000.

On Friday night, during the Challenge Cup semi-final, Marler was caught on camera appearing to kick the head of Grenoble hooker Arnoud Heguy during the first-half of Harlequins' 30-6 win.

The 24-point win was marred by the incident involving Marler and Heguy. He has not been cited my the match commissioner, and faces an anxious wait as his season may come to a premature half.

If Marler is banned, he faces the prospect of missing the end of Harlequins' season which include a Challenge Cup final against either Montpellier or Newport Gwent Dragons next month in France. The London team are currently seventh in the Premiership table with two games left to player.

Marler also faces the possibility of missing England's three-test series against Australia in June.
