RTE say that Joe Brolly has been asked to desist from making comments about the format of the Sky Sports panel after the controversial analyst was forced to apologise for comments he made on Twitter yesterday.

Brolly appeared to suggest that Sky presenter Rachel Wyse did not have the credentials to co-host their coverage of this year's All Ireland championships after comparing her to a "Baywatch babe".

In a statement, RTE say that the views expressed by Brolly are not those of RTE and he has been asked to desist from making such comments.

However, the broadcaster's press office also confirmed that Brolly is still expected to be part of their punditry panel for their next championship game.
