The Australian holed an eagle on his final hole to close to 13-under and within just one shot of Walker.

But the American, who had started the tournament well by leading after Round 1, held his nerve to claim victory on 14-under.

Best of the Irish was Padraig Harrington who finished 6-under for the tournament after an excellent final two rounds.

The challenge of 2016 Open champion Henrik Stenson faded during the final round as he slumped back to 8-under after a round of 71 to finish in a tie for seventh.
