Jessica Ennis-Hill is set to be upgraded to a gold medal for the heptathlon event at the 2011 World Championships.

Ennis-Hill, who has since retired from athletics, finished second to Russia's Tatyana Chernova whose results have since been annulled on account of a doping violation.

Ennis-Hill later won a gold medal at the London Olympics and silver at Rio earlier this year.

Chernova was issued a two-year ban in 2015 and two years of her results up to August 14th 2011 which includes her World Championship performances, were discounted. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) says she must forfeit her world title. She will also be stripped of her bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics.

CAS has imposed an additional ban on Chernova:

"All results between 15 August 2011 and 22 July 2013 are annulled and the athlete will forfeit any titles, awards, medals, points and prize and appearance money obtained during this period."
