Munster have announced that Jerry Flannery is returning to the province.

The former hooker has been confirmed as part of Anthony Foley's backroom staff after being hired as their new scrum coach.

Flannery will be joined on the coaching ticket by former Munster centre and Cork Con head coach Brian Walsh, who will be Foley's assistant coach, along with current coach Ian Costello, who has been promoted to take charge of defence and kicking.

Foley had already announced that his former team-mate Mick O'Driscoll would be returning to the province as a Technical Advisor in April.
