They may have started a rookie third-string quarterback, but New England Patriots moved to 3-0 for the season with a 27-0 win over Houston Texans on Thursday night.
Jacoby Brissett, making his first career start, after Jimmy Garoppolo injured his shoulder last week against Miami Dolphins scored a 27-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter.

The Patriots led 10-0 at half-time, as Houston regularly turned the ball over throughout the game. Quarterback Brock Osweiller threw one interception as two other fumbles, helped the Patriots take control.
New England running-back LeGarrette Blount scored two touchdowns, including a 41-yard run in the second-half to insure the team's third win of the season.

Houston's 27-0 loss in their first regular season loss without scoring since December 2003. On that occasion the team also suffered a 27-0 away loss, in Jacksonville.
Brissett may keep the starting quarterback position next week for the Patriots' home game against Buffalo next weekend. Tom Brady's four-game ban ends after the Bills game, and he will be expected to step straight back into the team ahead of the trip to Cleveland on October 9th.
