Ireland prop Jack McGrath says it's time for his generation at Leinster to stand up and be counted.

The IRUPA Player of the Year nominee joined Off The Ball and Brian O'Driscoll - one of the stalwarts of Leinster's Heineken Cup-winning core - in tonight's show and spoke of the changing of the guard at provincial level.

"Every team goes through it, that changing of the guard. For us, as players, it's time to stand up and the young guys that were there initially like myself, Rhys, guys like that were all coming through at the time that Leinster were so successful, it's kind of on our shoulders now," he said.

The Irish provinces are absent from this year's European Champions Cup knockout stages and McGrath admits watching the semi-finals from the sidelines is tough.

"It's pretty frustrating and it's hard to watch when you see other teams in that position when you have been in there yourself," he said.

McGrath also spoke about his work with IRUPA's Tackle Your Feelings campaign and raising awareness about the issue of mental health.
