Sligo Rovers have parted company with manager Owen Heary.
His former Shelbourne team-mate Stuart Byrne broke the news on Off The Ball tonight and confirmed that Heary was sacked by the club two weeks ago and, despite lengthy negotiations between the two parties since then, the former Bohemians boss has now officially left his position.
"I suppose, the best way to put it is that Monday two weeks ago he was sacked as manager," said Stuey.
Senior player Joseph N'Do has reportedly been taking charge of training since Heary's departure a fortnight ago.
As for Heary's future post-Sligo, Stuey said: "It's a shame because I do think that Owen has got huge potential as a manager. If he takes what he brought to the game as a player, he has a huge future in the game especially in management. But this wasn't to be."
