Cork City were beaten in extra-time as they allowed a winning position to slip against their hosts, KR Reykjavik in tonight's Europa League first round qualifier.
Mark O'Sullivan's deflected strike gave Cork the lead and put them into a 2-1 lead in Iceland.
The Leesiders received a further boost before half-time when Reykjavik were reduced to 10 men.
But the home side forced the match into extra-time with a 75th minute strike before then taking advantage of shambolic Cork defending in extra-time to claim a 2-1 win on the night and a 3-2 aggregate victory.
St Patrick's Athletic also tasted disappointment tonight.
Liam Buckley's side slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Richmond Park, which saw them crash-out 4-1 on aggregate against Skonto Riga of Lativa.
