A newspaper article on women's rugby has caused 'anger, disappointment and hurt', according to one player.

As the Irish Women's Rugby team secured their place in the World Cup semi-final, Sunday Independent journalist Niamh Horan visited Railway Union RFC.

She wrote of being sandwiched 'cheek to cheek between two other girls' and quoted one of the girls saying 'I never play a game without my tan,' something that the club doesn't feel reflects their sport or commitment to rugby.
