Ireland's preparations for the World Championships in Denver continued with a full exhibition game on Tuesday evening against the Austrian national team at the Colorado Academy in Lakewood in Denver, where the Irish team came away with a 14-4 win.

Ireland jumped out to an early three goal lead within the first 5 minutes and never looked back. While the previous day's scrimmage against Japan saw plenty of action at the midfield, this game allowed the Irish attack line to work together to create plenty of chances.  Kris Prior, Brian Gillis and Tom Riley all notched goals from that position, while Cillian Murphy also made a notable contribution to Ireland's dominant offense.

At the defense end, Connor Sweeney and Kevin Quinn split the four quarters between them (two apiece) in goal, anchoring a stubborn Irish defense.  The Irish team then hosted a BBQ after the game where they were joined by the Austrian team as both teams enjoyed some R&R after a tough evening's work.

Ireland will take part in a controlled scrimmage against the Iroquois Nationals on Wednesday afternoon, with the opening ceremonies of the tournament taking place on Thursday evening, followed by Ireland's opening game of the tournament on Friday against Uganda.
