We have live coverage of the Men's National Cup final on Off The Ball this Friday and commentary comes from the legendary Timmy McCarthy.
UCC Blue Demons and Dublin Inter do battle at the National Basketball Arena and McCarthy highlighted the clash of circumstances between the two teams.
"It's one of those games set up as a fairytale for any cup competition. You have the best team in the country in UCC with a phenomenal history of success against a team that two years ago were playing in the Midlands League - not even in the second level of Irish basketball," said McCarthy who compares to the 1988 FA Cup final between Liverpool and Wimbledon.
Dublin Inter are also a hugely cosmopolitan club, drawing from a range of nationalities and also pay their own way.
"They are amateurs and they have people from Lithuania, Poland and set up by an Estonian. They have some Irish players but there main body of players is Lithuanian. They have no professionals on their team whereas UCC does. They have no sponsors and they pay their own way. It's just fairytale stuff from that point of view against the slick machine of Blue Demons."
McCarthy also discussed his famously unique commentary style where he has coined expressions like "BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!" and "DOWNTOWN!!!".
He proved to be a hit during the basketball coverage at the Olympics, although he was initially unaware of the fact.
"I wasn't aware of it. I don't tweet. But I became aware of it during it that it was trending in Ireland and the States. It was flattering and I love commentating. To get the chance to commentate on LeBron james and Kobe Bryant is special."
The Corkman also explained how he first got involved in the sport which has defined his commentary career.
