Ireland rugby international Niamh Briggs has been shortlisted for the IRB World Player of the Year award.
The Ireland full-back is one of four nominees for the award, alongside France's Safi N'Diaye and Canadian duo Kelly Russell and Magali Harvey.
The 29-year-old has been in fine form for Ireland during the Women's Rugby World Cup in France, scoring 25 points as the team reached a semi-final against England, which gets underway at 5pm today.
That 25-point total also included a try in 23 - 17 win over USA in Ireland's World Cup opener.
Briggs also played a crucial role as Ireland won the Six Nations Grand Slam in 2013.
