Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed that their Irish manager Richie Foran has left the club.

The club dropped out of the Scottish Premiership on the final day of the regular season.

Dubliner Foran had been in charge of the club since 2016, having spent the seven previous years there as a player.

The former St Patrick's Athletic and Shelbourne footballer saw his side finish bottom of the Scottish top flight, having amassed 34 points, one fewer than 11th placed Hamilton.

Earlier in the season, Foran had impressed, winning the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month award for September for good form including holding the eventual runaway and unbeaten league champions Celtic to a rare draw (the first of just four draws in a record season for Brendan Rodgers' team).

"Richie has been a great servant to ICTFC and put 100% into his job as Manager; and previously as a player. We all thank him for his service and wish him and his family all the very best for the future," said chairman Willie Finlayson in a short statement on the club's official website.
