Ireland and Ulster winger Andrew Trimble has been handed a new contract.

The 30-year-old, who was one of the stars of last year's Six Nations win, is currently sidelined with a toe injury.

But he has now agreed a new central contract with the IRFU that will keep him with Ulster up until the summer of 2017.

Trimble says he is delighted with the new deal and is now focused on getting himself back into contention to play for both club and country.

"I am delighted to have signed with Ulster for a further two years.  I hope to be back playing soon and will be aiming to put myself in the frame for selection for Ulster and Ireland over the coming months," he said.

"2015 will be an exciting year at both provincial and national level and I hope to play a role in the coming years in the continuing success of Irish rugby.”
