British actor Sean Bean sure does die a lot on screen. He’s been doing it over and over for more than 20 years. Whether it was his ‘they-aren’t-going-to-actually-do-this-OMG-they-did-do-it’ Game of Thrones demise, getting a quiver-full of arrows in Lord of the Rings or satellite squishing in Goldeneye, he bites the bullet so often it’s become something of a running joke.

But how much truth is there to it, though? Is Sean Bean really cinema’s most fatalistic actor? Well no, but he’s at least he’s top five.

Nerdist reporter Kyle Hill crunched the numbers and plotted the graph, and out of more than 70 big-screen appearances, Mr Bean has kicked the bucket in more than a third of his movies. But that comes in about 10 death-scene performances behind B-movie stars Vincent Price and Bela Lugosi.

Cinema’s death superstar is actually John ‘can you feel the’ Hurt, whose chest-busting antics have seen him pop his clogs in no fewer than 43 movies.
