Cork City have closed to within seven points of Dundalk at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division after beating Shamrock Rovers 3-0 at Turner's Cross tonight.

Sean Maguire, Greg Bolger and Garry Buckley got the goals.

John Caulfield's side also have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Galway United enjoyed a 2-0 win against Bohemians, Longford beat Finn Harps 1-0 and it finished scoreless between Wexford Youths and Derry City.
