Ireland's Mark English was the stand-out peformer for the Irish team on day two of the European Athletics Championships in Zurich.
The Donegal man advanced to the final of the 800 metres as a fastest loser after coming home in fourth place in the fastest of today's two semi-finals.
His time of 1:46.23 was just two-tenths of a second slower than the quickest time recorded this evening and leaves him in contention for a medal on Friday.
