With rumours that he does not exactly see eye to eye with Real Madrid's current manager Rafa Benitez swirling, a return to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo has been mooted - and not for the first time.

United manager Louis van Gaal has also mused about the possibility, saying "let's wait and hope". 

But Ronaldo's influential agent Jorge Mendes has poured cold water on any reports of a Real exit, whether it is to Old Trafford or another rumoured destination like Paris Saint-Germain.

"It is impossible. He will end his career at Real Madrid," Mendes told French TV show Canal Football Club.

Yesterday, Real Madrid made the decision to stick with under-pressure Benitez after Saturday's 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Barcelona in El Clasico.
