While Dublin might not have expected to hold on to their Leinster hurling title in the face of an onslaught from a pack of hungry Cats, the team will have been crestfallen by the disappointing nature of their defeat to Kilkenny.

The Dubs fell to a 1-9 - 0-24 loss to the Cats and Dublin centre back Liam Rushe feels it is difficult to put one's finger on a particular pressure point as he chatted to Ger.

"I don't think it was any gulf in skill or class. I just don't think we were mentally tuned on. Looking at it, we didn't fight hard enough and I think we forgot just how hard-fought that title was last year," he admitted, describing it as a "systems failure".

He also felt that Dublin lost some composure as Kilkenny put the pressure on and that confidence "ebbed" as attempts went wide.
