Former Norwich manager Chris Hughton believes that he could have kept the Canaries up this season.
The club has just five games to play and despite games against Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal still to come, Hughton feels he would have definitely kept the team in the Premier League.
In a statement through the League Managers Association, Hughton said: "I understand the recent frustrations, but I remained totally confident that we were on course to create history at the club by retaining our top-flight status and move into a fourth consecutive season in the Premier League."
On Monday former Norwich striker Paul McVeigh told Off The Ball that Norwich's players did not give Hughton their full-backing this season and that his replacement Neil Adams' biggest challenge is to get the playing staff immediately onside.
