Patrick Horgan scored a stunning 2-11 from placed balls at Semple Stadium this afternoon to give Cork revenge for last September’s heart-breaking All-Ireland final defeat to Clare.
Horgan led Cork to a 5 point win over the All-Ireland champions and a place in the Munster final against Limerick on July 13.
Jimmy Barry Murphy’s side won 2-23 to 2-18. Darach Honan and John Conlon scored the goals for Clare. The All-Ireland champions will now go into the qualifiers, as they did last year, and attempt to forge a route back to Croke Park to maintain their grip on the Liam McCarthy cup.
