Cork’s Patrick Horgan will be available for Sunday week's All-Ireland senior hurling championship quarter final against Kilkenny, following a successful appeal against the red card he received in the Munster final against Limerick.
Horgan was dismissed by referee James McGrath in last Sunday’s game, following an incident which saw the Cork man strike Limerick’s Paudie O’Brien on the back of the head with his hurl, as he went up to contest a high ball.
The red card proved to be decisive in the Munster final, as Horgan was dismissed on the stroke of half-time, when the sides were level at 0-10 each, but in his absence Limerick pulled away to win by nine.
