After stepping out of the hectic world of inter-county hurling two years ago, Henry Shefflin embarked on a new challenge this weekend when he togged out for a football game with his local club.

But King Henry didn't have the freedom that he is normally afforded on a hurling pitch and was given strict orders from the Ballyhale Shamrocks intermediate coach, to avoid soloing the ball at all costs.

It will take some time to adjust to the other National sport, but with a bit of time spent lobbing the ball against the garage door, the former hurling legend could become a potent weapon for his local club. In any case, the fans are glad to see Henry Shefflin cantering up and down a GAA pitch again.

Surely, Brian Cody should be happy that his former player has found a new passion, no?
