Owen Heary will take charge of Bohemians for the final time in Dalymount Park tomorrow night as he is set to be announced as the new Sligo Rovers manager this weekend.
Heary has signed a contract this week that will see him replace John Coleman at the Showgrounds, who left for Acrrington Stanley last month.
Heary, who has been in charge of ‘The Gypsies’ since last year, has stabilised the club as a Premier Division team this season. His relatively short time as a League of Ireland manager has been deemed to be enough to convince Sligo that he was the man for the job, having fought off competition from Paul Doolin (Republic of Ireland under19 manager), Joe Dunne (former Colchester United manager) and Trevor Croly (former Shamrock Rovers manager).
Heary’s contract at Bohs concludes at the end of the season and Sligo are set to announce his arrival on Saturday.
Victory for Bohemians over Derry tomorrow night will see them leapfrog their opponents to a seventh place finish in the league.
