Cian Healy, the Leinster and Ireland prop, has been cited for a stamp on England’s Dan Cole during Ireland’s 12-6 defeat at the Aviva yesterday.
Healy will face the Six Nations Disciplinary Committee in London on Wednesday (Feb 13th).
Healy could face a ban of up to nine weeks, with the minimum punishment handed out for stamping set at two weeks. Any absence will further hurt a squad already low on bodies as Simon Zebo faces ten weeks on the sidelines with a broken foot incurred in the early exchanges of yesterday’s game while Johnny Sexton sustained a hamstring injury towards the end of the first half and is considered a serious doubt for the trip to Scotland in a little under two weeks time.
England Under 20s back row forward Ross Moriarty will also face the disciplinary panel following his red-card for a dangerous tackle during their game against the Ireland under 20s whyich took place on Friday of last week, in Athlone.
