Padraig Harrington ended up in a worrying situation this morning when his caddie and brother-in-law Ronan Flood collapsed at the Volvo Champions in Durban.

While, Flood was treated for dehydration, in stepped an Irish tourist to take up the caddie duties.

65-year-old photographer Pat Cashman happened to be on the course, watching the action as part of his holidays.

Having known each other for years, the three-time major winner got Cashman to caddie for him until the end of the round, with Harrington scoring a round of 71 to leave him five strokes off the leaders.

European Tour news reporter Nick Dye caught up with Harrington and Cashman after the round.

Harrington joked that Cashman had started off as if he was carrying "a set of bows and arrows" but by the end, he had learned not to talk to the golf ball.

Cashman admitted he was "very worried" when Harrington asked him to step in but ended up enjoying the experience.

And there was good news for Flood who should be right as rain to resume caddie duties for Day Three of the tournament tomorrow.
