Kildare claimed the Leinster Under 21 football title last night, with a 1-12 to 12 poins win over Longford in O’Moore Park. The final margin of 3 points was testament to a late fightback by Longford, who had trailed by 8 at one stage of the first half.

The victory gives Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney his first silverware at county level and he credited the hard work and dedication of his side for the success. McGeeney spoke to Newstalk’s Oisin Langan after the game and you can listen to the full interview below.
