Lewis Hamilton has taken pole position at the Malaysian Grand Prix, earning his second successive start from the front of the grid in a rain soaked qualifying session and his thirty third career pole position.
The session was delayed by 50 minutes due to heavy rain in the time leading up to the scheduled start time.
Hamilton finished ahead of reigning champion Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull, while Hamilton’s teammate Nico Rosberg secured third spot.
Fernando Alonso took fourth in his Ferrari, while Daniel Ricciardo in the other Red Bull was fifth. They were followed by: Kimi Raikkonen, Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Jean-Eric Vergne and Jenson Button.
