The Irish Open turned out to be disastrous for Ireland's top golfers as the likes of Rory McIlroy, Paul McGinley and Padraig Harrington all missed the cut at Carton House.

Graeme McDowell is another name that can be added to that list.

The Northern Irishman was philosophical about the setback, choosing to take the constructive criticism on board and learning from it.

But he also explained that he did not have a huge number of tournaments under his belt this year to build up a head of steam.

Nut he won't be hitting the panic button just yet...
