Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes the Gunners can mount a title challenge next season - but only if they recruit players in the summer, rather than letting them leave.

The last time Arsenal found themselves at the summit of the Premier League table was in December 2010 in a season when they eventually finished fourth.

Depending on results going their way today, Arsenal could finish the day just a point off the Premier League's top four. 

Champions League qualification is the aim for the north Londoners, and they host Reading this afternoon.

But Giroud believes that money must be spent in the summer to push Arsenal into the mix for the title race next season:
