Stage two of the Giro d'Italia is taking place today in the Titanic quarter of Belfast, but Ireland’s Dan Martin will take no part.

Martin has confirmed he will take no part in this year’s race after suffering a broken collarbone in a fall on yesterday’s team time trial stage. Martin was involved in a crash with Garmin teammates when he seemed to skid ona drain in wet conditions.

Canadian rider Svein Tuft, of the Orica Green Edge team, will wear the pink jersey today.
