Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has named a 34-man panel of players that he will choose from for his side's opening two Six Nations games against Scotland and Wales.

Craig Gilroy and Simon Zebo did not make the cut, with Luke Fitzgerald, Dave Kearney, Fergus McFadden and Andrew Trimble providing the options on the wings.

Zebo and Gilroy were excluded despite proving their fitness during last weekend's win for the Ireland Wolfhounds over the England Saxons

Just three uncapped players remain in the squad from the initial training panel, with Munster-bound Robin Copeland still in contention along with the Leinster pair of Martin Moore and Jordi Murphy.
