Steven Gerrard has signed a contract extension at Liverpool.

The club has not revealed the length of the deal. But Managing Director Ian Ayre said the situation will be reviewed again "in two years' time".

33-year-old Gerrard made his first-team debut for the Merseysiders in 1998.

Last season he made 35 appearances, scoring nine times as the Reds finished 7th.
