Former Clare hurling manager Ger Loughnane has claimed that the Offaly hurlers are "a county living in the Dark Ages."
Writing in today's Irish Daily Star, Loughnane said that Offaly are "the only team in the modern era with fat legs, bellies and a****" as he previewed the National Hurling League which kicks off this weekend.
Offaly kick off against Laois in Division 1B this Sunday. Last year saw The Faithful County finish third in the division and saw the county run Kilkenny close in a pulsating Leinster Championship match.
