Kilkenny look set to be without Ger Aylward for a long period of time.

It has been confirmed that the All Star forward damaged his cruciate ligament during last Sunday's All Ireland junior club semi-final for his club Glenmore and he is now a doubt to feature in the Cats' All Ireland title defence

The 23-year-old made his senior inter-county debut in 2013 and contributed three points to Kilkenny's cause in last September's All-Ireland final win over Galway.
