The Galway hurlers are set to receive a timely boost, following the reports that ace forward Johnny Glynn is making a return.

The Irish Independent is reporting that Glynn, who is currently based in New York, will make the lengthy commute home for inter-county games.

23-year-old Glynn is already believed to be travelling home for club duty with Ardrahan, and is expected to link up with the Galway seniors on Monday night.

Glynn played a key role in Galway's journey to the All-Ireland final in 2015, where they were defeated by Kilkenny. One of his highlight moments from that season, was a goal inside the opening seconds against Cork in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Following the conclusion of the 2015 championship, Glynn relocated to New York and was a notable absentee in Galway's charges last season, as he lined out for New York in the Connacht football championship.

After initialling moving over to America, Glynn was expected to return home after a few months.

But despite keeping in regular contact with manager Micheál Donoghue, it soon became apparent that he was planning to extend his stay in the states.
