Hurling in January for intercounty players is not the most appealing of ideas. Add in a flurry of snow on a Wednesday night and it's even less popular.

That was what faced the Cork and Waterford hurlers last night in the Munster Senior League. Cork won the game in Mallow by 2-18 to 0-13. Pa Cronin and William Leahy scored the goals.

You will find it difficult to find a more picturesque setting on a GAA field than the one that was in Cork last night.
