GAA round up: Lynch leads Derry to Dubs victory

Derry beat All-Ireland Champions Dublin by 1-16 to 13 points at Celtic Park this afternoon in Division 1 of the the Allianz Football League.

Mark Lynch notched 1-8 for the home side in the win, which sees Derry climb to second in the table.

Tyrone are up to third after a 2-23 to 1-12 win over Westmeath in Omagh.

Cork lost their 100 per cent record in the league this season, as they went down to Mayo by 4-12 to 2-14 in an entertaining game at Elverys MacHale Park.

Cork stay top, however, while Mayo stay fifth.

And Kerry kept their league title hopes alive with a 2-15 to 15 points win over Kildare in Newbridge, with James O'Donoghue kicking 1-5 for the Kingdom in their win.

  • In Division 2,Down beat Donegal by 1-9 to 10 points, while Louth and Galway played out a draw in Drogheda on a scoreline of 2-9 to 15 points.

Longford 0-10, Cavan 1 - 9
Roscommon 3-19, Offaly 2 - 4
Wexford 2 - 12, Sligo 1 - 12

Hurling

In the Allianz Hurling League Division 1A, All-Ireland Champions Clare thrashed Waterford by 5-18 to 20 points at Cusack Park.

Clare led by 23 points at half-time, before Waterford restored some respectability to the scoreline in the second half.

Last year's All-Ireland Final hero Shane O'Donnell scored 2-2 for the Banner, as well as setting up three more goals for Patrick Donnellan, Podge Collins and Peter Duggan.

The win sees Clare overtake Waterford at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Galway are up to third in the Division 1A table, after they beat Tipperary by 3-16 to 1-19 in Pearse Stadium.

In Division 1B, Cork beat Antrim by 18 points to 1- 12.

Offaly and Limerick played out a draw at O' Connor Park at 2-15 apiece.

And Wexford beat Laois by 2-21 to 1-18.
