There’s a busy day of inter-county action ahead today, with both football and hurling sides reaching the end of their preparation for the approaching Allianz League season.

Kildare face Meath at St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge at 2 o’clock. The home side look to win back to back O’Byrne cups today.

Leitrim are also looking to pull off two in a row, with their final of the FBD League against Roscommon taking place in Carrick-on-Shannon from 2pm.

The main focus of attention in hurling today will be the return of Henry Shefflin to the Kilkenny line-up, as the Cats take on Galway in the Walsh Cup semi-final. Shefflin joins a strong half forward line of Colin Fennelly and Eoin Larkin. Throw in in Freshford is at 2pm.

The winners of that game will face thw inners of the game between Dublin and Wexford, which throws in in Gorey at 2.
Anthony Daly has rung the changes for Dublin, bringin Martin Quilty and Shane Durkin in, along with 6 others, to a new look Dubs side.

Clare take on UCC in the Waterford Crystal Cup semi-finals. The All-Ireland champions and the students from Cork get started at 2pm in Sixmilebridge.

The other semi final between Tipperary and University of Limerick, due to take place in Nenagh this afternoon, has been postponed due to the pitch being unplayable.

No re-fixture date has been made yet.
