He leaves the club bottom of the Championship following relegation from the Premier League.

The Cottagers have lost all but one of their seven matches this season, conceding 18 goals.

Earlier, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stepped down as manager of Cardiff after less than nine months in charge.

Cardiff were also relegated last season and currently sit 17th in the Championship with just two wins from seven games.
