Chris Froome is set to be crown Tour De France champion, following another good performance in today’s penultimate stage. Froome finished third today in stage 20, to Annecy-Semnoz, and in doing so maintained his lead of over 5 minutes. With tomorrow’s stage to Paris little more than a procession, as tradition dictates that no riders will attack on the ride to Paris.
Nairo Quintana, of Team Movistar, was today’s stage winner. It was the first stage win for the Colombian. The win moves Quintana up to second in the overall standings, and second in the king of the mountain classification.
Alberto Contador could only manage a seventh placed finish today, and that disappointment saw him fall back to fourth overall.
