The controversial 2022 Qatar World Cup has come under further scrutiny after fresh bribery allegations were leveled in a British newspaper.
The Daily Telegraph claims documents show former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner and his family were paid over £1 million by a Qatari firm linked to another ex-FIFA member.
It is alleged that a company owned by former Asian Confederation President Mohamed Bin Hammam made a payment shortly after Qatar won the bid to host the tournament.
The FBI are understood to be investigating the allegation. But the organising committee have stressed that they have strictly adhered to FIFA's code of ethics and have distanced themselves from any wrongdoing.
Yesterday, the head of the task force looking into switching the dates of the Qatar World Cup said that a final decision would be made early next year.
