Robbie Fowler and Dietmar Hamann were in Dublin today and with Liverpool playing Manchester United this weekend, Ger got their take on the potentially defining game.

Naturally they are a little bit biased given their loyalties but no one can disagree that Liverpool could tear United apart if they attack them.

"It's the only way they can play," said Hamann,"With Sturridge and Suarez bang in form and with Sterling and Coutinho, we've got to play that way. That's what got them there and I don't think Brendan Rodgers will change it now for this game. Brendan's never been one to play for a draw and he'll go there to win." 

Fowler is impressed by the way in which Rodgers has transformed the team and is happy that "he's playing football the right way."

"His man-management skills are excellent. Didi will tell you that when you have a manager who believes in the players and wants what's best for them, the players give that little bit more. I think people are impressed by how he has handled situations and formations,. He's not scared to change formations if certain ones aren't working and to me that says a lot about them," said Fowler who believes form can go out the window in derby-like matches such as Man United v Liverpool.  

Both Fowler and Hamann picked the 2000/01 team as the best Liverpool side they played in during their Anfield careers, although Fowler felt the 1996 team also deserved special mention. 

The Reds duo also spoke about their World Cup tips, the challenges of punditry, Fowler's work with the academy, the best Liverpool players they ever played alongside and their least favourite managers.
